Aleksey Doroshchenko
I was born in the town of Zhodino in 1985, which is not far from Minsk (Belarus). My interest in photography developed during my studies at the faculty of radiophysics. I don't have any formal education in arts or photography. 95 percent of my knowledge about photography is from books and the Internet. Sometimes you can also use your own head. I'm very sad that I can't draw properly. In 2006 I won the second place at the photo contest “Shots of the new century”, which was organized by the photo agency «SinarStudio» in St. Petersburg. On that occasion I've learned how to hitchhike to St. Petersburg. It was an interesting experience. My personality was strongly influenced by my studies in radiophysics. Sometimes for example, I like to explain things by means of mathematical methods, by ways of graphics and dependences. Recently I started to attend tango classes. I regret that I haven't started earlier. I like girls. Some girls very much. When I was a student I used to cook a lot. Nowadays I scarcely cook and the things I cook are simpler than before. I like to swim, especially in warm sea water. I am not married.
Actually I am a very reticent man and don't usually talk much about myself. If I do, I normally just talk about unimportant details. This text feels like a confession to me, which costs me quite a bit of efforts.
Series: "Fragments of human homes"
On the photos one can see a strange old house, which was completely destroyed recently, and a tiny apartment, which has become the first Home of mine. Unexpected finds and common things turned out to be something more as just an accumulation of forms and functions. Each room, where somebody have lived, can become its personal museum. There are many things that we can discover just traveling through our own apartment. This route cannot be measured in kilometers, but only in hours. Take a look.© 2008
